NCCU Job Vacancy: Credit Officer

JOB TITLE    :           CREDIT OFFICER

JOB STATUS :           FULL TIME

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Credit Officer at the Nevis Co-operative Credit Union Limited.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process loan applications in accordance with credit policies.
  • Conduct credit investigations, financial analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance and identify potential delinquent accounts.
  • Manage delinquency and implement recovery strategies to minimize losses.
  • Analyze delinquency trends, prepare reports on arrears performance, and recommend actions to improve recovery outcomes.
  • Recommend delinquent accounts for restructuring, legal action, or write-off, ensuring proper documentation and justification.
  • Ensure proper documentation, registration, and custody of securities.
  • Prepare reports on loan performance, delinquency, and collateral status.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and revaluations of securities to ensure continued adequacy relative to outstanding loan balances.
  • Maintain an updated securities register and ensure proper custody, control, and safekeeping of all security documents.
  • Report any deficiencies, irregularities, or missing securities documentation to management, promptly.
  • Provide professional guidance to members regarding loan products and repayment options.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit administration, lending, or collections within a financial institution.
  • Proven knowledge of delinquency management and securities administration.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking systems.
