JOB TITLE : CREDIT MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE:
The Credit Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversight of NCCU’s credit operations, including loan processing, credit risk management, portfolio performance, delinquency control, and securities management, ensuring the safety, growth, and sustainability of the loan portfolio in accordance with NCCU policies and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the Credit Department, ensuring effective credit administration, underwriting, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and oversee credit risk management frameworks, lending policies, and procedures in alignment with Board directives and institutional objectives.
- Review and approve loan applications in accordance with delegated lending authority and Board-approved limits.
- Monitor credit portfolio performance, identify emerging risks and trends, and recommend appropriate risk-mitigation and corrective strategies.
- Oversee delinquency management, loan recoveries, restructurings, and non-performing loans, ensuring asset quality and portfolio sustainability.
- Ensure the proper documentation, registration, custody, and discharge of loan securities.
- Prepare and present reports, analyses, and recommendations to Management, the Credit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
- Support the design, rollout, and periodic review of credit products and lending programs to enhance member service and institutional profitability.
- Coach, supervise, and develop credit staff by setting performance goals, monitoring results, and fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Remain informed of market conditions and financial sector developments that may impact credit risk and lending strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ progressive experience in credit administration, including credit risk management and supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong knowledge of consumer, commercial, and mortgage lending.
- Advanced understanding of credit risk analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management.
- Proven leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent analytical, financial, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
- Proficiency in banking systems, financial tools, and digital communication platforms.
